My model for supervision is relational with a bio-psycho-socio-cultural lens which emphasises embodiment, mind-body integration and consciousness-raising. My supervision approach is trauma and attachment informed, influenced by the ideas of therapeutic-supervision and working with implicit and explicit experience. By providing a blend of theory, mindfulness, and practical elements within sessions, my intention is to offer support, safety, and competence to practitioners which can translate into the lives of their clients. Supervision is about the professional, but since the professional lives in a body, it’s also personal. So supervision is also about holism, transformation and integration.

I provide specialist clinical supervision for Accredited Mental Health Social Workers, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and for those seeking Havening Accreditation. My main supervision focus is supporting practitioners working in the trauma sector, grief and loss, as well as gendered issues of violence, or with people experiencing developmentally adverse experiences and/or overwhelming experiences across life.

πŸ’ "Sheri provides an experience of supervision that is deeply embodied helping me recognise my own triggers and patterns." LS - AMHSW, Adelaide; πŸ’ "Sheri offers wisdom and compassion in supervision sessions, providing a great platform for reflection for early years and experienced clinicians" Kate Shelper Clinical Psychologist πŸ’ "Sheri's expertise and experience, particularly her alignment with various body-mind based practices and modalities, are incredibly valuable in supporting all my clients' healing journeys." Trina, Remedial Massage Practitioner/Registered Counsellor, Adelaide; πŸ’ "Sheri is a deeply regulating and compassionate supervisor who holds space with kindness, clarity, and zero ego. She gets to the heart of what's going on without ever making it about her, and I never feel judged - only supported, encouraged, and more connection to my work." Sharon Mann, Psychotherapist, Adelaide; πŸ’ "I initially came to Sheri because she is Certified in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and yet her support in my work, takes a wider lens too. I have always appreciated this, because human experience is not linear, approach to therapy is not a one size fits all and drawing from various modalities is respectful..." Marcela, Counsellor, Western Sydney. πŸ’ "Clinical supervision sessions with Sheri have had a transformative impact on my identity and resilience as a social worker and therapist. Sheri's expansive knowledge about somatic approaches to working with trauma, coupled with her humility and kindness, continue to support my personal and professional growth. I come away from our conversations feeling deeply encouraged and held in my practice and curiosity." Emily, AMHSW, Adelaide; πŸ’

πŸ’ "I have had an extremely positive experience in supervision with Sheri Zala, both as an individual supervisee and as part of a group. Sheri creates a deeply safe, respectful, and reflective space that has allowed me to explore complex clinical and ethical issues with confidence. Her insight, warmth, and ability to hold space for nuance have been invaluable in helping me grow both personally and professionally. Sheri’s supervision has not only supported my practice but has enriched it". Linda, Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Melbourne; πŸ’ "I have had the privilege of receiving supervision from Sheri for many years. Her depth of knowledge and wisdom consistently enriches our work together. Through her guidance, kindness, and genuine curiosity, I have grown into a better therapist. Sheri creates a space that fosters both professional development and personal insight, and I am deeply grateful for her ongoing support". Kate Baxter, Psychologist, Melbourne. πŸ’ "Supervision with Sheri is an immersive learning experience guided by deep practice wisdom and practical tools. In supervision I often feel like I’ve had the experiential practice of looking and feeling inward to explore the nuanced relationship between the work and my own narratives. Sheri is thorough, clear and authentic - a mentor and a gentle guide who walks alongside the often complex journey of therapeutic work. I have taken many practical tools away with me along side the opportunity to continue reflecting and evolving as a clinician and as a human!" Casey, Mental Health Social Worker and Family therapist, Melbourne. πŸ’ "I have grown in my trauma informed practice by attending group supervision with Sheri. Sheri creates a compassionate and knowledgeable space where practice challenges are addressed via heart and mind". A , Mental Health Social Worker, Adelaide.

"In a forever changing and evolving workforce, Sheri has been an incredible support in my ongoing development not only as a Social Worker in a clinical capacity but an emerging leader. Her warm curious approach and her extensive knowledge as Social Worker and sector has guided me in challenging times as the community Mental Health space continues to evolve. I am forever grateful for her wisdom and objective opinion which has supported my growth not only as a professional but an individual. I would recommend Sheri as a Clinical Supervisor to any developing Social Worker or emerging leader." M, Clinical Lead, Wellbeing Local in Victoria πŸ’ "Sheri brings a grounded, compassionate, and open minded presence to supervision. Her extensive training in somatic therapy embedded in an attitude of open curiosity allows her to notice subtleties I often had not considered or given space to before. This offers a kind of insight and processing I have not experienced with other supervisors. I look forward to my sessions with Sheri, knowing they are an opportunity to peel back layers and reflect deeply, something much needed in this line of work." Merel, counsellor (SA), πŸ’ "Working under Sheri's guidance has been one of the most transformative experiences of my professional life. She brings a rare blend of kindness, deep compassion, and clinical wisdom to supervisionβ€”qualities that have created a space where I have felt genuinely supported, seen, and encouraged to grow. She has a gentle yet profound way of helping me explore the complex and often tender terrain of therapy in private practice. Even the most difficult moments in my clinical work are met with her steady, reassuring presence and thoughtful insight. Her feedback is never heavy-handed; rather, she invites reflection and curiosity, helping me see what once felt obscure with clarity and confidence." J, AMHSW, Adelaide
